How does PureSample resemble a credit report?

PureSample resembles a "credit bureau report" for online panels, whereby any Deceptive Panelist Score higher than 0 indicates that the panelist has already been reported. Companies can file reports for respondents with questionable credibility and search the existing database in order to determine whether certain email addresses have already been reported as deceptive. The application is further enhanced with web services, which enable developers to interface with the PureSample database in real time over the Internet.

How do you define a "deceptive" panelist?

A deceptive panelist is someone that has been found to be engaged in deceptive activity, such as using multiple email addresses registered at the same mailing address, or being a frequent speedster (a panelist who regularly completes surveys in a fraction of the average completion time to go through more surveys and redeem more rewards or compensation).

What happens if a panelist's email address is mistakenly placed on the PureSample register? How do I get my name off the database if I am listed as deceptive?

The panelist in question can check his or her name and see if it comes up. If it does, they can appeal to GMI by contacting us. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

How were the deceptive panelists on PureSample originally detected?

The original deceptive panelists on PureSample come from GMI's own database of deceptive panelists' email addresses that were detected via the company's extensive counter-measures designed to combat online panel fraud.

How much does PureSample cost?

Registration is complimentary to any panel professional who wishes to add their list of deceptive panelists to the PureSample database, or assess their list of panelists against the PureSample database.

How do I know that you will not contact my non-deceptive panelists' email addresses once I upload them onto PureSample?

GMI has no intention of utilizing your panelists' email addresses for panel recruitment, but for assurance you can upload your list of email addresses with MD5 encryption. This way, GMI will not be able to view your email addresses, but you will still be able to take advantage of the PureSample database.

MD5 encryption is an Internet standard that uses a 128-bit hash value. Text encrypted with MD5 methodology, such as an email address, is very difficult and time consuming to decrypt.

How do I add a deceptive panelist to the database who has more than one infraction type?

You must be a registered user to manually add single panelists or upload a list of panelists. Once you have registered, you can submit any number of deceptive users with our upload wizard.

To submit a deceptive panelist who has more than one infraction type, you need to create a panelist record for each infraction type. For instance, if a user has committed three infractions, you would need to submit three reports (three lines in a CSV file) each with a different infraction type.

Does the site comply with European data privacy laws?

  • Provide a clear, accessible, current privacy policy for all participants
